CZ Atelier,
upholsterer
in La Roche-sur-Yon and the Vendée

A passion for sewing and design
CZ Atelier, which has specialised in upholstery and interior design since 2012, is the fusion of a passion for sewing and an abundance of creativity.
As the granddaughter of a seamstress, I always knew that one day I would devote myself to the noble, shiny and warm material that is fabric. At the age of 8, I was already designing my own clothes and practising on my first Singer sewing machine. But I didn't yet realise the many wonderful possibilities that this manual activity could offer me.
Brought up to respect work well done and human values, I've always applied myself to everything I've undertaken. After an initial career in the nautical industry and then in industry in the Vendée, I felt the need to return to a creative profession. I wanted more than ever to make objects with my own hands, to work with a noble and respectful material. And while my passion for fabric has never left me, another has taken its place over the years: wood.

solid, ongoing training
I decided to go back into the craft, so I trained at Astelle Atelier, a training centre specialising in the world of textiles. There, I acquired extensive knowledge and a variety of techniques that enable me to choose my fabrics with precision and give my customers the best possible support in their interior design projects. Cotton, linen, velvet, wool, faux leather... there's no material I can't handle!
When I set up my workshop near La Roche-sur-Yon, I broadened my activity to include upholstery, so that I could create or restore seats, armchairs and sofas. I have perfected my skills with a teacher from the prestigious Ecole Boulle, and I am a member of the Union Nationale de l'Artisanat et des Métiers de l'Ameublement (UNAMA).
But the best training is still in the field, where I work every day with experienced joiners, interior designers and fitters.

A craftsman-creator at your service
Today, I define myself as a craftsman-creator. I put my expertise and high standards at the service of private individuals and professionals who want to give their living spaces a makeover or spruce them up:

Tailor-made, responsible creations
My aim is to restore or make pieces to suit both your aesthetic taste and your lifestyle. Meticulous craftsmanship and an eye for detail go into every aspect of my work, from creating a headboard to finishing curtains and net curtains, from refurbishing an antique chair to designing decorative objects.
Committed to responsible and sustainable practices, I take great care over the quality of my raw materials. As far as possible, I work with French and European fabric manufacturers. This is also the case for most of the supplies, such as the ropes for the voile bags and the eyelets for the baskets. As far as the wood is concerned, I generally use beech or oak from sustainably managed European forests. Finally, as far as possible, I try to use organic cotton and recycled products, such as fabrics made from plastic bottle tops.
